Dr. Ana Lucia Ferreira de Barros is a Full Professor in the Physics Department at the Federal Center for Technological Education (CEFET/RJ), Brazil. With extensive expertise in high-energy particle physics, non-linear optics, and atomic physics, her research spans experimental studies of chemical and physical modifications induced by ions and photons on astrophysical and energy-relevant materials. Dr. Barros has held various leadership roles, including coordinating the PhD program in Optics and Applied Instrumentation and founding the Laboratory of Experimental and Applied Physics (LaFEA). She has conducted research at renowned institutions such as NASA AMES Research Center, GANIL (France), and Queen's University Belfast (UK).
Her work includes over 80 peer-reviewed publications and a strong focus on electrochemical energy storage systems like supercapacitors and solar cells.
