Prof. Kensuke Naka

Prof. Kensuke Naka is a Professor at the Faculty of Molecular Chemistry and Engineering, Kyoto Institute of Technology, Japan. He earned his Ph.D. in Synthetic Chemistry from Kyoto University in 1991. His academic career includes research roles at Kagoshima University, a postdoctoral fellowship at Lehigh University in the U.S., and various faculty positions at Kyoto University before joining Kyoto Institute of Technology in 2007. He currently also serves as Director of the Materials Innovation Laboratory and previously held the position of Vice-President of Kyoto Institute of Technology (2022–2023). His research focuses on organic-inorganic hybrid polymeric materials based on cage silsesquioxanes and the development of organoarsenic chemistry for emergent functions. Prof. Naka’s achievements have been recognized with prestigious honors, including the SPSJ Wiley Award (2007) and The Award of The Adhesion Society of Japan (2020).
